The story in the Vindicator the other day is an eye opener. The number one crime in the city is people driving without a license and or insurance. The Police Chief used the word epidemic to describe the problem. I am an old school kind of guy, who follows the rules , and find it troubling that 50% of the people in the city think the are not laws but suggestions. Look, if you don't have a license and can't afford insurance then you should take the bus, walk, ride a bike, or call a friend for a ride. The problem has to be also effect other laws, if you do not follow these two rules, them I have to wonder how many of these same people file a tax return on April !5 or pay property taxes. The other day Rush was shocked that 50% of the peole in Detroit do not pay the property tax bill the get every 6 months, because there is not a fear of someone taken the property for back taxes, because people are moving out of Detroit and there are no takers, so the get away with not paying the bill. The bottom line is that if you have a pot to piss in as the old saying goes you better follow the rules and pay your bills, but if you don't you have nothing to lose.
