Couple of thought about today's show. First a number of people were upset that the visit from the President was by invitation only. These are becoming more and more staged events that leave the general public out who would like to see the President. Also, the unemployment number for June was 8.2%, with only 80,000 new jobs for the month. The interesting part is how many people are getting on Social Security Disability, 85000 for the month of June, more than the jobs number. I really got to wonder what is going on with this, since June 2009 3.1 million worker signed up for disability. Experts say more people try to get on disability when jobs are hard to find, and changes on the rules back in 1984 have made it easier for people to qualify. Hey, I have no problem with people getting on the program if they have a problem, but if they are pulling a fast one it is just fraud and wrong. sometimes I think we have shipped so many jobs out of the country with these trade policies, and a goal to build up other countries, this unemployment rate might be the new norm. On the other hand, how many people have put themselves in the unemployment line or under employed line because they can't pass a drug test, or dropped out of high school and never learned a trade or way to make a living. These people have noone to blame but themselves, and based on what I read on how many are failing drug tests the number is big. So, even with the number at 8.2% for unemployment I will use the line from the great Paul Harvey, hey that means 92% of us are working...
