Today Core 6 headed by Donny Murphy presents American Legion Post 472 to the veterans of that post on Indianola. Murphy of Donnell Ford is a super salesman who brings people together.
The half million dollar project was donated to the veterans by the trade unions and business. This is an incredible accomplishment and the Core 6, 3rd such project. We will bring you the festivities this morning starting at 9. Stop by the Indianola post and see what this community has done for Veterans.
President Obama addressed the press yesterday, guess what their is no movement on the fiscal cliff. Don't you wonder why business is forced to contend with zero based budgeting each year, yet the Federal government considers a slower raise in the debt a cut.
Consider the Mahoning Country commissioners, each year they deal with a set budget and divvy up the pool of money. Why doesn't the Federal government do the same? Spending is going up 9 Trillion over the next 10 years and the Obama proposal is to cut 2 Trillion from the long term debt. Yet Obama says entitlements are off the table.
The talk is banning guns this week. Consider this, over the weekend an off duty police officer carrying his weapon took down a shooter at a theater in San Antonio. Two weeks ago the mall shooter in Oregon took his own life as a CCW holder drew a bead on him. By the way the CCW permit holder had the weapon in mall against the mall rules.
How does this happen, two bank robbers serving a stint in Chicago, made a make shift rope escaped a 20 story High Rise prison at 2am. After the Spiderman like escape they jumped in a cab and are still being sought.
Parents may be reacting to the school shootings, video game sales are down a few days before Christmas,
Finally, we plan to do a show on mental health after the first of the year with Ron Marion president of the local mental health board. It is long needed. Consider this, John Hinckley's parents sought help for their troubled son for years, so did the portents of Gabby Gifford's shooter Jerrod Laughner, same for the parents of the Virgina Tech shooter. Mental health has to be on the front burner, if you are talking about protecting our kids.
Talk to you from the American Legion post 472
